Text Viewer and Editor

The Text viewer module provides not only viewing of text files but also works as an editor.

View text files

After opening a text file, the file content is displayed in the text editor window. Use any of the following features to configure how you like to view a text file:

  • Font size: by default, text file content is displayed using system font family and size. Click the Reduce font  button or Enlarge font button to adjust font size to your like.
  • Wrap Text: when checked, text in the file is wrapped instead of being displayed in continuous lines that may go beyond the width of the viewer
  • Line Number: displays the line number counters along the left side of the text viewer window for reference
  • Line and column number: displays the current line and column number of where the cursor is at
  • Print: use the system Printing dialog box to print the text file in display

Edit text files

Use the Text viewer editor just as text editor to modify any part of a text file, with the following features:

  • Undo or Redo: either reverts or repeat the previous edits stored in memory
  • Copy, Cut, or Paste: select a range of text content, choose to copy the selection, cut the selection (and store it in memory), and past the content copied in memory to its destination location.
  • Save: click the Save button or File > Save to commit any changes. Use File > Save as… to save changes to a new file.
