Access all Toolbars easily in Audacity

Sometimes, you might not be happy with the toolbars that are available in Audacity. If your favourite toolbar is not accessible or visible on the Audacity display screen there are multiple toolbars which provide quick access to the best software functions for audio editing.

All the functions in Audacity are run by particular toolbar. And to run every function, we need access to all the toolbars available in Audacity. This is because it is nearly impossible to edit without having all the toolbars at your fingertip. As a result, Audacity offers you a wide range of toolbars in its View section, where you simply have to click on the checkmark to have the tool you wish to have access.

Audacity has many toolbars with many features that you can use to edit any specific part of your audio track, using that particular toolbar. Now, take a look at all the important features that Audacity offers apart from Spectral selection toolbar and scrub toolbar.

  • Transport Toolbar

This tool maintains or controls the playback or recording, whilst skipping to start or end if neither playback is recording or playing. Hold onto the grabber to do the function. And, either click on the image or select the particular toolbar title to guide you through the detailed page of the Transport toolbar.

  • Meter scale for recording toolbar

This tool is used where it displays a level of recording and toggles input monitors when its not recording. Either click on the image or select the particular toolbar title to guide you through the detailed page of the transport toolbar.

  • Tool Toolbar 

This section includes selecting icons for zooming, time-shifting, and adjusting the volume of the audio track. Here, you can easily raise or lower the volume of your audio track.

Using this tool, you can adjust the playback or recording volumes to your desire.

This toolbar is solely meant to edit minute mistakes in your audio track, which you must rectify as soon as you listen to the recording. In tandem, functions such as cut, paste, undo, and redo are all carried out by this particular toolbar.

This toolbar enables you to increase and decrease the playback speed, depending upon the pitch.

Want to resize your audio track?

The toolbar in Audacity has two different dock areas: Upper dock area and Lower dock area.

All the tracks are in Upper dock areas by default, until you change the dock area. You can resize your track by adjusting the transition between upper and lower dock areas.
